This is an Incredible Sterling Silver and
Mexican
Cantera Opal Box by Bernice Goodspeed.
It has an Embedded Cantera Matrix Opal
Cabochon
at the center, that is finely polished and Very smooth.  There is a Lot of Fire in this one.   It is a Gorgeous Piece of Opal.  The Lid is
Signed on the side next to the opal with Eagle 28. The bottom is signed with the Etched Capitol B, Taxco Sterling and the Eagle 28.  It has a Fantastic Design in the Sterling Silver with the Hand Cut Applied Flowers.  Crafted by one of the Top Taxco Silver Artists of that time.
Size
:  Sterling Box is 2
1/8 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide by 5/8 inch thick. Opal Sits 8mm above that. Cabochon is 12mm wide by 3/4
inch
(22mm) long by 8mm thick.
Condition:
Overall Excellent. Opal is Excellent and Gorgeous. There is a Very nice age patina that we will leave - but it could be shined to bright silver. There is one small scratch indentation on the top(hardly noticeable)(see photos).
